Hi John, and thanks for the heads up on the other focuser option. Have you purchased one? How has it performed?

I have already used the Williams Optics crayford focuser for SCT one night at one of our NSW observing meetings (courtesy of Louie - thanks mate!) and I am very happy to go with the Williams Optics option. I am aware of the zenith issue....but the smooth fine focus action of the crayford is all I could ever want, and I will live with the slight inconvenience. I'd rather this than buy one of the focusers you have referred me to without a trial.

I am advised by Daniel from Frontier Optics that the Williams Optics crayford has been improved further since with 1/10 two focus options, providing even better focus. It now retails for AUD310, which is not that much more than the other option you have directed me to, bearing in mind exchange rates and delivery costs.
