No one has mentioned the wonderful elixer from the south of France, Pastis. Nothing is more refreshing that a Pastis, one part Pastis to 5 parts icy cold water.
I am a shameless Shiraz drinker with red meat. With white meat/fish, I am partial to a NZ Sauvignon.
I am not a big beer drinker, but if very thirsty, I am drawn to darker beers - Tooheys Old is a favourite - lovely and yeasty. Also fond of Beez Neez with BBQ'ed white meat/fish.
