success!!! To add to my last post. Yes i took the tension off the spring plate but tha wasnt all, i had to place shims (made from the shiny picture cards that come when buying pot plants) undreneath the ball bearings that sit in the slide plate slot held in by the grub screws to take up the exact slop and it worked!!!!!
The focuser works absolutley fantastic!!!! almost as good as a crayford!!With the ball bearings the friction is minimal making it slide super smooth and the shims take up any see saw slack so i can go forward and back with bearly a noticable change( very very minimal) It took alot of trial and error but it worked and i'm happy with it!!! On tue i was getting very frustrated with it and gave up and rang bitel to buy a crayford but they were cosed (public holiday) which forced me to continue and it payed off !!
I should have made these two posts a thread!!!!!
