I will attempt to get there around 7am, but I am thinking around 8am for us will be early enough. Still a bit too cool early in the morning for the bugs from what I saw at Roma Street Parklands.
The Japanese gardens open around 9am and the zoo opens at 9:30am.
If someone is in need of a lift out there and lives between Parkinson and Ipswich I would be happy to offer a lift - just PM me.
