Astronomy Photographer of the Year exhibition photos

Hi All,

Recently I came back from a European trip which included a visit to London and I managed to squeeze into the schedule a visit to the Royal Observatory in Greenwich and saw the Astronomy Photographer of the year exhibition.

I must say this was the most impressive presentation of astro-images, which were printed on some kind of film and illuminated from the back. The room itself was rather dark and glowing images of the night sky looked magnificent. The room was full of visitors too!

Australia was well represented as you all know and I took a few photos of our winning images. Only when I arrived to Melbourne I realised that I forgot to make a close-up image of Peter Ward's Hydrogen-Alpha Sun but it was way too late. Sorry, Peter!

Small images are attached and full resolution photos can be downloaded here (30MB):

Cheers,
Alex
