Mike should not be our intermediary. I also wouldn't be happy to hand over my details for him to keep just in case - hackers would love to go trawling through his server for such personal information. Identity fraud is alive and well unfortunately.
If you want to involve a 3rd party, use Cash on Delivery with Australia Post. I used it for a purchase of several hundred dollars a while ago. Something didn't feel right about the seller, so when they offered to use CoD, I thought why not. I opened the box in front of the post office staff and when I was sure I had my item, I swiped my card through the post office EFTPOS machine which was converted to a money order back to the seller. It added about $30-50 in charges to the transaction, but there was no risk for either the seller or purchaser.
