We had this rule back in the early days, but removed it after a few years because it seemed more of a hindrance than a help.

After a few issues with a very small minority of sales, it's been suggested to re-instate this kind of rule again.

So we'll give it a shot again.

Interestingly though, the issues were with members who would not have been affected by this rule anyway - so don't think this is a solution to all your potential problems as a buyer. You still should take all of your necessary precautions when buying off the internet.

New members are now UNABLE to create threads in the IceTrade Classifieds until:
- They have been a member for over 1 month, AND
- They have made at least 5 posts in any section.

I'm sorry to genuine new members who sign up to sell stuff, and now have to wait - it's buyers who may miss out but we'll see how it goes.

This rule does not affect new members signing up to buy stuff through IceTrade. They can still reply to threads and PM users.

Members who do NOT meet the required criteria will see the attached notice in the IceTrade Forums. The notice will disappear once they are able to post ads.
