My Jack Russel keeps the cats out by merely being there.
I have great entertainment on my IR cameras as the cat realizes my dog is about to pounce. Luckily for my dog the cat exits stage left as quick as it can. I sometimes go out and throw a very large rock and hit the cat as I know where he is. It is illegal for cats to be out at any time in my shire.

Some years ago when it was legal I used to shoot them with a high powered rifle. My backyard has been fertilized with many dead cats.

Cats are vermin. I just do not know how this nice bloke puts up with them.

I may start pissing on the cat owners front doors if they do not keep their cats in.

No it is easier to eliminate them.

Of course cats threaten and kill wildlife (and pee on cars), which is no good, but dogs kill or injure people particularly children! Sooo, if we want to be good pro active citizens I think your efforts would be better aimed at dogs out of their yards without their owners, particularly large ones.
