You may need to allow file sharing on the iMac. Go into the System Preferences and then in the "Internet and Wireless" section there is a "Sharing" icon which will let you share various parts of your iMac.
If you get stuck there is a good amount of help about, just google "imac file sharing with windows" or similar and you should get a lot of info.
