To right, so interesting from the early British mapping surveys to their 1920's/1930's expeditions, the Swiss attempts in the 50's, the summit achieved in 53 to the big/small national expeditions of the 60'70'80 and then the commercial expeditions of today. Wonder how many people know there was an Australian involved in the 1922 British Everest attempt
George Finch {father of actor Peter Finch} pioneered the use of supplemental oxygen and reached around 8300m and the 1984 Australian successful expedition via the previously unclimbed north face route.
