Longer days mean more hours to spend time with the family at both ends of the day. It means time to spend with the children in the backyard after dinner, driving to work in daylight hours, warm weather and lots of long sunny days.
Don't care much for the 'less light for astronomy' theory. Like all of my hobbies, astronomy does not rule my life. I have more important things in my life to focus on.
