yep that first step onto the imaging slope is the slippery-est. Its looks like you will have a firm foothold and you feel like you will be able to maintain control, but before you know it you are head over heels and heading downhill fast.
You might as well get rid of all those silly eyepiece thingys - you won't be needing them any more....
