Had a similar problem and got me a 3 string cigar box slide guitar

lots of folk are into it and anyone can play one
.
Check utube and you will get the idea.
Thru a big amp it peels the paint off the walls
. Since I have had it a lot of folk even ask me to play it
..that never happened with a conventional guitar
..the reverse really
.
There is the playing side but also the building.
