STELLARVUE F50M2 & F60M - OTA size

I have both of these Finderscopes.

The main OTA tubes are the same size, only the objective housing of the F60M is different.

In both cases you can remove the diagonal / focuser housing to install the SV finder rings. These are the brightest and best finderscopes on the market. F50M2 (there is a white one too) has a wider FOV so suits fast refractors. The F60M is ideal for SCTs - its also an amazing short tube scope when you use a 19mm Panoptic under dark skies.

Both the above are worth the money. There is also F60 straight through version makes a good guide scope too with helical focuser - but watch out this focuser can drift out of focus easily when the mount slews.

Vic Maris also sells his unique F2DS a "Dark Sky" version of the WO Multi reticle unity finder. This has a larger lens and much dimmer red LED target more suitable for deep sky. I use two of these rigged for the 127 EDT and C11.

BTW if you have flexure issues with the SV ring mountings, I have reverted to ADM rings and V dovetail.

Cheers,

David
