Well I can't see any point in exhibiting the bones. There is nothing to be gained and I hope the idea just peaters out. As for Ned, well mention of his name can start religious wars. As far as I can see he was a looong way from a saint but also not the devil some see. It seems the family were somewhat prone to petty crime but were by no means major criminals. There are doubts about the correctness of some of his early convictions and the coppers didn't like it that 4 of them couldn't arrest him and had to get the local blacksmith to help. I think they had it doubly in for him because of that and that may explain why Lonigan 'black balled' him. The event that pushed him to becoming a full-on outlaw was the lies told by the copper Fitzpatrick who arrived drunk at the Kelly farm and tried to molest Ned's sister. After that there was no chance of justice under the law and Ned's fate to die at the hands of the law was sealed.

Perhaps Ned should have hung but a couple of others should have been up there with him.
