I have found USB Hubs to be a source of problem. I have had relatively cheap ones work OK when its just 2 or 3 USB connections but other times no good.
I just bought a $30 something dollar hub from Jaycar Electronics and it did not work on my cameras.
The one that seems to work is that HiTecAstro hub that was mentioned on the Software Bisque PMX thread.
Martin Pugh also uses one of these.
They distribute power as well as a USB hub plus can control dew heaters if you use them.
About 135 pounds or so. English company.
