ps I forgot. I even whipped out the old(er) Celestron 102 EQ refractor and set it up where we could have a quick peek at Saturn and M42. This was about mid evening and the seeing was slowly improving. Managed to git up to a 6mm eyepiece, (not pretty though

). Then a quick peek at M42. I couldn't see the south so only did a really rough guess at SCP. I mustn't have been too bad a guestimate as when I came back to the Celestron after about 20-25 minutes it had only moved about 1/3 of the way across the eyepiece.
It ws an interesting exercise comparing the Meade 8" LX200 (f/10), the Meade ETX-90AT (f/13.8)and a Celestron 102EQ (f/10)refactor.
