G'Day All,
After having no reply to this thread I sat down and had a good look at how I could fix it .I came up with using a thin strip of metal from a coke can and wedge between the side of the cable and the fitting ,all are very tight and no slop in the cable and all are working.
The cable I got from Dick Smith and like most cable made in China they are made to Chinese measurement close enough is good enough and don't worry about the slop
