1. You can use it, but it won't be as effective as with mono camera.
2. Most of planetary nebulas is small, usually planet-sized or less. Small sensitive mono camera and narrowband filters (or RGB through UHC) would be very effiecient on them And you can do some experiments like imaging He, Ne or Ar bands
