Nettie - "snake oil" label is possibly a little harsh I think.
This is purportedly legitimate research - still in the early stages, but nevertheless they're trying. The term "snake oil" is usually used to refer to a sleight of hand - a known fake sold for profit. I don't think that this fits that description.
