(I 've read one back in '60-ties, about modified virus that cures illness and also rejuvenates - the patient was physically 30 years younger after the treatment. Ben Bova wrote something similar in one of his novels... nanomachines were involved. BTW,what's the difference between nanomachines and artificial viruses? To me, it's almost the same thing..)
Quite plausible, though.
