Hi Ian,
Last week I joined with Tony and Lach and we took the 3RF Dobs up to Lightning
Ridge for a public outreach event. Ray Norris was also there and gave his presentation
on aboriginal astronomy. I know Tony & Lach really enjoyed the visit to Nhulunbuy.
Hope one day to get to visit you up there.
Speaking of mysterious lights ...
On the drive up, Tony was giving me his account of having once seen the fabled Mim Mim
lights. He was driving 100km/h and after half an hour the lights passed him, driving
100km/h down the road in the other direction.

With the right conditions for refraction,
it is amazing how the lights of a pair of car headlights can be seen over such
a distance.
Take care and be sure to put up a "Beware of the crocodiles" sign for any prospective intergalactic visitors.
