I see the flat earther's are true to form. A few points to think on, I would love to live in a world where there was far less rules and regulations. However I also know that just like socialism it sounds good but it does work in the real world. Human greed means that we have to have rules, most people would agree with that.
The challenge is when to rules become oppressive? That will be different for different people.
If we all live by the golden rule do to others how you want to be treated then all rules and regs should have their basis in that basic tenant.
If your actions are adversely affecting other people then you should stop it. I really don't understand why someone would oppose this unless your a anarchist.
Good manners should stop your neighbor from mowing their lawn at 5’o’clock in the morning, however I glad we have noise pollution rules to back it up as there is always one person who doesn’t care about others.
Hagar nothing in the proposed carbon tax reduces your choices. Is extra tax on smokes bad? Is the regulation of extracting water out of the Murray good or are they taking away our freedoms.
Xelasnave, I agree on the mono culture comment. When we use trees to offset our carbon then we should re-vegetate rather then plant one type of tree.
The next election may result in a change in governent but it will not mean that global warming will go away. Remeber also that most libs think a market based emission trading is the best means to control carbon emissions. So no matter what Phony Tony says to get your vote now, will the Libs dismantle the ETS.
