I worry that tax and Government can solve problems given the track record on crime, drunkeness, drugs or domestic violence to name a few.
The tree planting in my area was a joke... good river flat land gone to a forest that no animal can live in..none of these forest get maintained properly..the tree companies went broke ...I love forests (I live in one) but mono culture (plantation forests, palm oil etc, is not good for any reason other than a for commercial return.)
AND looking at the expensive toys (hot cars boats planes etc) it seems some will carry on with little regard to how their behaviour impacts...tax probably has little impact on someone bent on racing.
But actions such as these book folk do focus attention and that cant be all bad.
I think planing to live in a future where nothing has been achieved is realistic... I wonder what that world will be like.
