What a wonderful array of books mentioned, and some I havent heaard of which I will purchase ..... now!!
Loved Rendezvu with Rama, and the Foundation series, the 3 Mars books ( have just bought Galileo's Dream by Kim Stanley Robinson which is supposed to be fabulous).
