yes the overall height did concern me a bit at first but it only ended up about 125mm higher and I had no constraints as far as that was concerned. In fact it helped by allowing me to have a higher pier and still clear the scope.
I've got plenty of weight on mine so jumping isn't a problem. I'd wish I'd known of the In-Ground Sliding Gate Track System - Heavy Z, they look like the bee's knees. nice low profile though the bottom bracket would need to come off on my setup.
