You know the saddest sound I heard minutes ago was the sound of Atlantis' APU's shutting down. A descending whine fading away, and the "whoosh whoosh" sould of the APU exhaust stopping. It is as if the shuttle "died" In a way it has, well, the shuttle program, and US manned space flight has indeed died.
With the US in horrible financial shape I fear US manned spaceflight may never return
