Lost or missing in action
You know what it's like. You look everywhere, then look again. Then you get all scientific and retrace your steps - when did I last have it? If I had it in my hand now, where would I put it down. You interrogate the dog with surfboarding (waterboarding, actually - I think) and other techniques, look accusingly at the cows - but to no avail.
I've lost it. Has anyone seen my MPCC? Did I, perchance, lend it some some needy soul?
