5" Intes f10 Maksutov
For sale is an Intes 5" f10 Maksutov Cassegrain telescope. This is the last scope I have.
I purchased it "new" from a retailer last year, but I think it is either old stock or a refurb as there are a couple of things that don't quite look right. These are:- Wobbly carry handle
- Powdercoating over side screws attaching primary to tube is cracked/scraped.
- Generic William Optics style multi-reticle finder epoxied to what appears to be a quick release piggyback base
- Slight scratch on finderscope.
The good news is it has:- Excellent optics, although taking it out last night, I can see it has come out of collimation. Not surprising as collimation scares me and I approach the task like a microsurgeon too nervous to apply more than a feather touch of pressure.
- An Intes 2" diagonal
- An Intes 1.25-2" adapter
- An Intes 2.4x barlow (no caps)
- An Intes 8x50 finder with adjustment rings on a quick release base
- An Intes eyepiece - should either be 12mm or 21 mm according to Intes website, but I have never looked through it. Also no caps.
- Padded semi-hard case
- Metal screw-on cover for rear opening and metal slip on cover for meniscus end.
- Usual Intes tank-like construction.
I had plans of using this as a portable planetary imager, but never got around to getting the EQ3 pro for it before losing interest in astronomy for a while.
Selling now as I am getting the itch back, and want to partially fund an Astrotrac as I start off again slowly with widefield DSOs through my 200mm f2.8 prime.
It is pick-up only in Warner as I really don't want to post this one.
Looking for $375 and photos to come tonight or tomorrow.
