Thanks Trevor, Two very different cameras indeed. The Atik was a big full frame 35mm CCD with 9um pixels. The QHY9 is a smaller CCD with much smaller pixels which much better suits my scopes. The QHY9 also has better cooling which suits me during the summer months. I really cannot complain about either camera as they did exactly what they were designed to do and did it well.
I will say that the QHY cameras have evolved into a range of cameras quite able to stand next to many of the much more expensive cameras out there, provide a real cost saving and some features that the others do lack. This at times does make them harder to initially come to grips with but in the end provide some extra features not available to the others such as a variable gain and offset. Usefull at times but can also be set and forgotten as well.
I have seen the QHY range mature and am very happy to use them as my prefered camera. Theo is also something else providing an aftersales service which is hard to beat.
