What a ripper scope for $200! With mounting rings too.

I've got one of these too (GSO brand, which I suspect this Southern Cross branded one is of the same origin by the looks of it). I've mounted mine onto a DIY dob mount. Takes literally 1 whole minute to set-up. Beaut thing about this mount I made, I can easily remove the scope from the dob craddle and whip it back into a set of mounting rings on an eq. mount as the scope's tube isn't modified in any way.

This scope make's a fantastic rich field scope! Stick a 30mm EP with a 68 degree FOV and the AFOV is over 2.5degrees!!

Sure there is some coma with a scope this fast, but I don't bother with a coma corrector.

You can make a dob mount for a scope like this for around $50 with all bits aquired from Bunnings.

The pic I've attached is of my 8" f/4 scope on the dob mount I made for it. She is a fantastic 'grab 'n' go' scope. Scopes this fast are not limited to photography. I'd love to see another scope on any type of mount that is up and running in less than 1 minute.
