Abell S805 (alias LGG 422) - an interesting but challenging object

A very interesting compact cluster of galaxies in Pavo is characterised in a post by ngcles in the "observation reports" forum, under the heading "AGCS 805".
(Supplementary information is also provided by "yours truly", the mad man of the galaxies)

This cluster of galaxies is an interesting observational target, as little is known about it.

It is variously known as:

Abell S805
LGG 422
The IC 4765 cluster of galaxies
The IC 4765 group

This cluster of galaxies is very compact, and there are enormous numbers of galaxies in a 1 degree field. Of course, the individual galaxies are of small angular size.
