Steve why dont you try those 13, 10 and 7 Plossls in your 12" for planetry.
You might be surprised how well they go on axis.
They will also give you an idea of what magnifications your scope can handle.

At the moment you are putting a lot of faith in that GSO barlow.
Are you sure it is up to the job?
