Yes, Registax 6 is certainly very powerful in ordinary seeing. I got improved results by doing a 100 image sub stack + a little enhancement, to generate a reference image, and then doing the final stack using that high quality reference.
Thanks very much for the tip on noise reduction, will try it - I have been using what I assume are the non-linear noise filters in the R6 wavelet layers, but the results seem to be overly sensitive to settings and I am not quite sure how the linked wavelets work anyway. Regards Ray
