You are absolutely correct! The U.S. is only 5% of the world’s population and uses 30% of its resources. I am ashamed. *bows head*

Currently I am starting a degree in environmental biology and I am concerned about the globes current situation. The carbon tax to me seems like a way for government agencies to make money. For companies that are already in compliance with a certain output, they can sell their remaining CO2 emission balance to someone else. I don't get that part. So instead of making a company comply it just allows them to spend a little more cash to continue their output. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of lowering emissions to begin with. Just seems like a bunch of smoke and mirrors to me.
