I have a Leki trekking pole with wrist strap and shock absorber. The knob screws off the top end to raveal a 1/4" 20 TPI thread for use as a monopod... specifically the reason I bought it.
Not all of them have this feature, so shop around and check them out.
Most good outdoor stores should have trekking poles.
