I wonder how many of you that spout this absurdity would like to have the 747 you are on, flown by the peanut gallery! Surely they have more common sense and none of this high faluting knowledge of avionics and flying ability and years of training. We will use common sense to fly this plane.
I wish you all a lot of luck. You will need it.

No, but that's not what I was getting at. You can have all the degrees in the world and letters after your name, but that makes you no wiser than anyone else. Just means you've spent more time with your head in books than the other guy. Knowledge is not wisdom, nor does it make a man anymore honest, law abiding, compassionate or anything else. Having knowledge doesn't mean you're going to make all the right decisions about any given situation or event. History is replete with so called knowledgeable men making some horrifically stupid decisions. Even wise men can make stupid decisions. We're all but human, so to speak, and not infallible.
Knowledge, tempered with wisdom and common sense is the ideal path. But it's something which is unfortunately lacking in most politicians, because very few have common sense and even fewer are wise enough to be true leaders.
