One of the Wattles in the paddock let go and came down this morning. It was probably weakened by the previous days strong winds.

It came down straight on top of my weather station, it was a big wattle so when I saw what had happened I had visions of the station being smashed to pieces.

On closer inspection I was amazed to see that the station had survived completely intact, the tree had a fork in it about two thirds of the way up and the station was sitting happily in the middle of it without even a scratch.

Some days the luck is with you, a couple of inches either way and it would have been curtains for sure.
