You can do the same with a DSLR with a clip-on filter I think. Canon does have them.

Yeah I was pleasantly surprised. I knew the image scale would be nice because I saw (another) Richard's shots but I wan't expecting a flat field out of the box. The real test will be this week-end in RGB from Crago.
