Yes the live focus seams to be for telescopes , I've seen people just use the auto focus and point at a bright star or Venus etc with the AF lenses ( 200 F2.8 and 600 F4 ) at times this seemed to be more of a hassle than using software though.
Do have my eye on the 5D seams ideal for lenses and refractors but most other scopes can't cover anything bigger than the 20Da anyway.
