I’ve been away on business for a few days so have missed some of the happenings in here. Unfortunately, I’ve never really chased W horizon events so I’m not familiar with good locations. Mt Coot-tha is great for Sun & Moon rise but to the West, not so good – a tree line I think?
I just placed a marker on the Story Bridge and drew a line on a bearing of 243 degrees and it seems to fit in the CBD nicely.
Do any of the Brissie locals know if you can set up tripods on the Story Bridge? Whilst there is enough physical room on the walkway, it will likely cause (grumpy?) pedestrians to have to step around your tripod legs and I think that cyclists pass through there as well, so that could be a major problem?
In addition, road traffic may cause vibrations.
