David, vignetting is something I love in landscapes/terrestrial images. Not so good for astro, as you know!
I enabled peripheral illumination correction (PIC) and the image kind of lost "something" in the process, so left the vignetting in for artistic effect.
And, yes, I definitely want to do more of these types of images. Would love to try this at the equator where the Milky Way looks like it's sticking straight out of the ground. That'd be something!
