You raise a very valid point. Just how do we define ourselves as a group. Dialects and accent are crucial in defining social groups. But our social group is web based so our rules are somewhat different.
My wife is currently teaching a course at a doctoral level about how the web has affected people movements and it is a most interesting subject.
