If you can't shoot DSO's because of the moon....shoot the moon instead.
They made a pretty trio last night, Spica, Saturn and the Moon.

ED80 up on top of the HEQ5Pro
Canon 550D @ ISO 100
27 x 180th sec exposures
Registax, CS3.
