Humayun, I don't think that anonymous voting would make a difference... I have been lucky enough to win a few times, and Anne-Louise has cracked it a few times as well... of course we believe that we put in a great entry and deserve the win... I have been really happy with some of my shots... but the rest are just fillers... I'm cool with that.
Having said that, whatever entry is put in will need to be something out of the box, because there are some pretty special shots already. |
I agree. There's a lot of variation in people's tastes. Some obviously take into account "how on topic" the shot is and others don't. Some obviously judge on technical aspects of the shot while others obviously don't. If it was a serious competition it would have formalised judging criteria and guideline and probably authorised/trained judges.
It's just a bit of fun.
There are a lot of very good photographers in this forum (like you H!
) who don't participate in the comps, which I find sad. It shouldn't be taken too seriously IMHO.
