Are you using a barlow lens or just sticking the toucam in the focuser? Sounds like your JUST making it by getting focus with the toucam fully racked out///Try pulling the toucam & adapter out of the focuser 10mm & locking it there (using the focuser lock screw) & then re-focus...You should be able to screw the adapter up tight.
Focusing with no tracking is not easy! Just ask Dave Pretorious!
I have tracking so it's way easy for me. All I can suggest for you is focus on the moon then slew over to mars & take an AVI & see how it comes out.
