Just luck. There's no way to really plan for it. Sometimes the clouds are too low that they don't get the beautiful sun glow off them.
Sometimes there's no clouds and you don't get any action in the sky at all.
The waves and sea were very rough on this day too, so it helped with capturing the crashing waves and bringing the surfers out
