Pier position in dome

OK - I have my pier design sorted now (previous post, steel vs. concrete pier) but as I am fixing a wedge on top this throws the telescope axis off the pier centre. I need to centre the scope in a dome to be constructed so what do I use as the 'centre' of the dome; 1) the new mount position of the base of the scope to the wedge or 2) the position where the fork arm attaches to the scope? I believe it is 1) (the join to the wedge), but also where is the centre of mass of the scope (CPC 1100) and should I then offset the wedge to counteract this and centre it over the pier? Thanks for any help IIS members can offer.
