yep.. it's a great hobby to have every time you use the telescope there's something in the sky that makes you go wow!!!!..know about a purchase of a new scope take your time ask questions join an astronomy club and don't tell the misses what you've bought or how much it was they probably end up leaving you once they find out...
my advise on a scope would be a 8 of 10" dobbie they are light weight portable plenty of light gathering power and not to expensive and most of all great fun....and a good starting point.
