Charlie Benante from Anthrax and S.O.D.

This is just a bit of a drumming wank-fest, but if you listen to early Anthrax, such as 'Fistfull of Metal' or 'Spreading the Disease', and especially if you listen to S.O.D.'s 'Speak English or Die' (which won't appeal to many), you can hear how versatile he is. Charlie's blast beats in S.O.D.'s 'Milk' are mind blowing.
But, credit where credit's due, Lars Ulrich's drumming on Metallica's 'Creeping Death' is awesome. That was his best day.

A laptop's speakers don't do this song justice.
Then again, Paul Caravello was pretty good. He died on the very same day as Farouk Bulsara. That was the real 'Day the music died'.
Cheers,
Jason.
